Ridley Engineering offers power supply design courses around the world. Available to all engineers are general courses on power supply modeling and simulation, and optimal magnetics design. In-house courses are available by appointment.

Four-Day Design Workshop: In this four-day intensive workshop, the first half of each day focuses on theory, design ideas, control schemes, and magnetics applications, all taught by Dr. Ray Ridley. Each afternoon is spent in the laboratory exploring and applying concepts, winding custom magnetics, building and testing circuits, and optimizing designs. All attendees are given a full copy of Power 4-5-6 during the workshop.

Learn first-hand from Dr. Ray Ridley, one of the top power electronics industry consultants and inventor of the most accurate model available for current-mode control. Dr. Ridley combines the teaching of theoretical and practical concepts, and hands-on experience with design software and laboratory instruments. It's an educational opportunity you can't afford to miss.

2010: Apr 6-9: Sierra Suites Hotel, 12505 Cingular Way, Alpharetta, GA

Comments from a few of our attendees. . .

"Ray is an excellent teacher. The course resolved differences between the practical and theoretical. And the measurement techniques in the labs will be of great value."
- Jerry Westberg, Broadcast Electronics - Quincy, IL

"An excellent four-day power supply design course! The hands-on approach every afternoon takes the theory into practice and provides extremely useful insight into real design issues. I can envision Power 4-5-6 software quickly resolving a number of design issues that I experience every day at work."
- Richard Gosla, Raytheon Missile Systems - Tucson, AZ

"The Workshop has an excellent balance of theory and lab work. The pace was excellent, and the course materials were well done. Power 4-5-6 software is very comprehensive."
- Justin Graves, Harris Corporation - Mason, OH

"The design course was excellent and well organized with a balance of theory and practical hands-on laboratory excercises. The logical step-by-step approach to magnetic design, snubber design, filter design, and control loop compensation, using the latest software and development tools, is outstanding and extremely valuable for power supply designers at all levels. Attending the course has helped me streamline the design process and improve the quality of our designs. The multilayer ceramic capacitor sample kit was an added bonus and just in time for real application in the workplace."
- Richard Vesce, General Dynamics - Taunton, MA
